The Rites of Spring

Coming from a place where there is basically two seasons which are not much different from each other temperature-wise, the changing of the seasons always never ceases to amaze me.

I love all the four seasons - and spring, when it is noticeable is such a wonder. Suddenly, you just feel free - free from the cumbersome winter clothes, free from the gloomy winter skies - every thing is fresh, the flowers are blooming exquisitely, the trees have green buds, the sun is resplendent, the sky is bluer ... the birds sing joyously. It's the beginning of life all over again.
Spring in Illinois can be beautiful when it is well-defined because sometimes it seems like winter just jumps into summer with a few days of spring. But when spring is really spring, everything is wonderful ... as you can see in these pictures in the following pages.
