From Asian American Village:Eileen Tabios is the author of BEYOND LIFE SENTENCES; BLACK LIGHTNING, a collection of poetry-in-progress essays about Asian American poets. She is currently editing DOVELION: THE SELECTED WORKS OF JOSE GARCIA VILLA, a "historical recovery project" on this century's most important English-language poet from the Philippines. She also serves as Editor of THE ASIAN PACIFIC AMERICAN JOURNAL.
Additionally, Ms. Tabios has received a 1997 poetry grant from the Witter Bynner Poetry Foundation, Inc. as well as fellowships from the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, Fundacion Valparaiso of Spain and the Helene Wurlitzer Foundation of New Mexico.
